Outside of my neighborhood this was the first time I've flown away from home! I quickly learned I needed to have a pre-flight checklist however...once setup and ready to launch I turned on my equipment only to discover I failed to load the SD card allowing me to capture photos and video which of course was back at home in my computer.
A quick drive home to retrieve the forgotten card and I was back in place although the blue sky wasn't quite as blue with some wispy white clouds moving into the area.
With only a couple hours flying around my home I wanted to be cautious but also wanted to see what the drone was capable of in terms of performance. With only a single battery providing 23 minutes of total flight time but more like 18 minutes with failsafe settings I used the opportunity to learn how to maneuver the trees and work the gimbal while capturing a few photos in the process!
