With a few hours to spare in the evening during a trip I was anxious to capture the Des Moines skyline only to discover that I had forgotten to bring the tripod plate which connects my camera to the tripod which is essential for night photography. I tried stabilizing as best I could by mounting my backpack to the tripod and setting the camera on the bag but due to the winds many of the shots taken had a slight blur to them sadly but I was able to recover at least a few shots to post here...lesson learned...check your equipment!
